How hard is it too make an 18th Century Dress Coat with vest and britches?
I want to make them for a masquerade ball. I want to look like the vampire lestat in "Interview with a vampire". How hard and how many days do you think it would take? How expensive do you think it would be to make it?

It's a well known fact that home staging can not only help you get more for your home than you would from a home sale without staging, but it is also true that home staging helps sell your home much quicker than without it. Home staging can be a pricey endeavour, which in our current times some home owners might not be able to afford. While a restricted budget might keep you from hiring a professional home stager, it shouldn't keep you from accomplishing a staging effort on your own if you approach the project in small steps.
The first thing that you need to do when you decide that you're putting your house on the market is decluttering your home. The biggest problem with un-staged homes is that they are often so full of visual clutter that prospective buyers can't really see what the home has to offer. Take this time to depersonalize your home; pack away family photos, degrees, and other personal items that could give strangers touring your home too much knowledge about you.
Also take this opportunity to pack away any seasonal items that you don't need in the next two months or so, including: clothes, decorations, dishes, and sporting equipment. This will leave less to pack when your home sells and makes it look like the house has more than enough storage space. Ideally, you want to pack away at least half of your belongings including pretty much anything that you don't use on a weekly basis
Try not to store anything extra in your garage or basement; either store everything that you've packed up with your friends and family or rent a storage locker. A garage full of boxes will just make it look like your home doesn't have enough storage space.
The next thing that you need to do is clean your house. Completely. Wash every surface that can be washed, have the carpets and upholstery cleaned, and wash or dry-clean your drapes and curtains. Don't forget to clean the windows, inside and out, to allow more light into your home.
After your entire home is sparkling clean you will need to make an assessment; look to see if are there are any repairs that need to be done. Fill nail holes and reattach lose baseboards to give your home a cared for look. When the repairs are complete than make an investment in some fresh paint and repaint the rooms in neutral colours. Even if the walls have all been washed, a fresh coat of paint will add brightness to the home.
The last thing that you'll need to do is dress the rooms of your house up a little. Try to create a little vignette in each room that can show how the room is used. If you don't have the right bits of furniture to accomplish this, try borrowing a few pieces from friends and family to help you really tie it all together.
A well staged home, even if it's homeowner staged, can really make a difference to how a home is perceived by prospective buyers. It's also a great way to get the ball rolling on your packing and cleaning of the home before you move out. Don't be afraid to go at it alone, it can save you a bundle.
